A man is locked in a room with a serial killer. The killer says that he will allow the man to escape if he can beat him in the serial killer's favorite game. If the man loses, the serial killer will kill him.

The rules of the game are as follows:

1. Each man must take turns placing a coin on a perfectly round table.

2. The coins must lay flat.

3. The coins cannot overlap each other.

4. The coins cannot hang off the edge of the table at all.

5. The first man to run out of room to place a coin on the table loses.

The serial killer is very confident in his ability to win at this game, so he lets the man go first. What can the man do to guarantee that he wins the game?

+ Reveal the Answer

The man must first place a coin in the center of the table. He then must replicate every move the serial killer makes on the opposite side of the table. Eventually the serial killer will run out of places to place a coin and the man will win.

You are walking the streets at night when you come across a clown. He tells you the following:

“If you tell the truth, I will strangle you.

If you tell a lie, I will chop off your head.”

How do you get out of this situation?

+ Reveal the Answer

You say "You will chop my head off." This way, the clown can't chop your head off because by doing so, he would make your statement true. That leaves him to strangle you, which makes your statement false, leaving you free to go.

A man murders his wife with a knife in their car when nobody is around to see. He throws her body out of the car and is careful not to leave any fingerprints on her. He then throws the knife into the ocean where it will never be found and goes home. An hour later the police call him and tell him that his wife has been murdered and that he needs to come to the scene of the murder as soon as possible. When he arrives they arrest him.

How did they know he killed his wife?

+ Reveal the Answer

The police never mentioned where the crime scene was. The fact that the man knew exactly where to go proved that he was guilty.

A girl was attending her mother's funeral when she met a man that she did not know and had never seen before. After a brief conversation with the man about her family and the life that her mother lived, the girl realized that she had fallen in love with the man. They parted ways but never exchanged contact information. She looked all over for him but was unable to find him.

A few days later she killed her sister. Why did she do that?

+ Reveal the Answer

She killed her sister because she thought the man would be at her funeral too. If the man knew her mother, he likely knew her sister as well.

John Smith is suspected of a crime that occurred on Tuesday evening on Redmount Street. The crime took place at 6:37 pm. It was said that a man had been walking along the pathway when he was suddenly shot in the stomach. The suspect had brown hair, blue eyes, and wore a baggy suit, just like John Smith's.

John was asked to tell the story right from the beginning. “Well,” said John, “I was just hanging around the park when I saw this man walking along the pathway. Suddenly, another man came up from behind him and shot him! I ran home as fast as I could.” The policemen asked him to give a description of the murderer.

John said, “He had a brown mustache, brown hair, and a baggy suit on.”

“I think this man is telling a lie,” said one of the policemen. How did he know?

+ Reveal the Answer

The police know the man was shot in the stomach, which means that John Smith was lying when he said the man came up behind him.

A dead body is found at the bottom of a twenty-five story building. It appears that the person jumped from one of the twenty-five floors to commit suicide.

A homicide detective is called to look after the case. He goes to the first floor and walks in the room facing the direction in which the body was found, opens the window in that direction, and flips a coin towards the floor.

Then he goes to the second floor and repeats the process. He keeps doing this until he has covered all twenty-five floors. Then, when he climbs down, he tells the team that it is a murder, not a suicide.

How does he know that it is a murder?

+ Reveal the Answer

At each floor, he did the same task of opening the window and flipping the coin. If it was a suicide, then at least one window would have been left open by the person who jumped off. The present situation only suggests that someone pushed him off and then closed the window.

Dan's son, James killed him. 17 years after Mary and Ben had their child, Dan would be 50 and James would be 25 - half of Dan's age.

Police enter the home and find a bloodstain on the couch, a strand of hair on the counter, and a bullet casing on the kitchen floor.  After inspecting the body and conducting a thorough forensics report, police determine this is a homicide case and that the man was killed between 3 pm and 4 pm.
